When comparing wholesale prices, a product photo alone is not enough. Material thickness, lining, metal hardware, stitching and production scale all change the cost.
Product construction and workmanship
A multi-compartment pattern, custom hardware, reinforced handles or more intensive workmanship can increase the unit cost. Even if the material name is the same, its weight and surface quality may differ.
Order quantity and production planning
Higher quantities can reduce some fixed costs. However, buying stock you cannot sell just for a lower unit price can damage overall profitability. Consider turnover speed together with the price discount.
Hidden costs
VAT, shipping, volumetric weight, payment fees, marketplace commission, advertising and a return allowance should be added to the cost of sale. Although the true cost formula varies by business, every item should be tracked by product code.
What does an affordable price mean?
An affordable price means offering quality that meets the target customer's expectations at a sustainable cost. The lowest tag price does not always mean the fewest returns or the fastest sales.
